ALL YOUR DEVICE ARE BELONG TO US

Some of the increasing number of products which use Mika.

Adhoco

Adhoco (Adaptive Home Control) have developed a system for intelligent home control, based on genetic algorithms. The heart of their system is a control unit running Mika and an OSGi framework.

Adhoco use a specially-adapted Mika bytecode engine which runs encrypted bytecode, thereby safeguarding their code from decompilation.

CPS Europe / TNO

The iDAP, designed by CPS Europe for TNO Defence, Security and Safety is a Domotica Access Platform initially aimed at care of elderly persons living independently yet under remote supervision. Built-in interfaces include ZigBee, SIP internet telephony, anologue (POTS) telephony, sound recording and monitoring, sound file playback, ... all accessible via Java APIs supplied by /k/. Runs KnopflerFish OSGi framework on Mika.

proveo

proveo Infoman proveo's Infoman controller runs on Mika. The Infoman is a compact unit equipped with GPS and GPRS/Wireless LAN which provides information on equipment location and activity to proveo's Airport Visualiser system.

SIRLAN Technologies

SIRLAN Technologies have developed an end-to-end software chain for building management, linking typical JavaEE technologies such as JMX on the server side with lightweight protocols such as Caucho/Hessian for communication with the embedded controller - which once more runs KnopflerFish and Mika on an ARM9 microcontroller. Their solution features

  • distributed software provisioning on both gateway and gateway server
  • centralised administration of a distributed framework
  • user access control to gateways and applications

Sirlan and /k/ are collaborating in the development of an OSGi standard for remote management.
